Ms Voigt, who won the yearly contest in September, said she put stock in deciding "that vibe best for yourself as well as your emotional wellness".
"Never undermine your physical and mental prosperity," she composed on Instagram. "Our wellbeing is our abundance."
The Miss USA association said it upheld her choice and would report a replacement.
The 24-year-old Venezuelan-American, of Utah, said that would have liked to "keep on moving others" as she began "another section" throughout everyday life.
"Focus on your psychological wellness, advocate for you and others by utilizing your voice and never fear what's on the horizon, regardless of whether it feels dubious," she said.
She offered her thanks for her nine months as Miss USA, which she said gave her a "stage ... to have an effect" as well as understand a "deep rooted dream" and meeting "individuals from one side of the planet to the other."
Miss USA expressed gratitude toward Ms Voigt and said on Instagram that "the prosperity of our champions is a main concern".
According to the statement, the organization was looking into plans for the "transition of responsibilities to a successor."
Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii came next to Ms Voigt in last year's opposition.
